I want to apologise for the distinct lack of blog posts in the last year.

We have had a fantastically busy year with so many holiday makers passing through the doors here at Norfolk Disabled-Friendly Cottages.  Even our off peak season was chocka block! It has left me with little time to go off exploring this great county on your behalf!

I am looking forward to, during the quieter winter months, getting out & about to be able to show you what Norfolk has to offer it's visitors.

I have written more posts and am aiming to blog weekly to showcase what Norfolk has to offer you, our visitors.

Here is a sneek peak of one of the places I've shared with you through the blog:

Thank you,

Lavinia :)

Please feel free to comment,

Planning ahead...

Norfolk is a beautiful county no matter what the time of the year, summer is always glorious with so much to do along the coastline but there is also a multitude of things going on even when the weather isn't so great.

One of the most amazing attractions that Norfolk has to offer as Christmas approaches is the hugely popular Thursford Christmas Spectacular. It suits all ages, I have been and believe me, it makes you feel 8 again! The place is full of the Christmas Spirit!  I always recommend it to our clients but due to its huge popularity it sells out very early in the year so I wanted to share it with you now to give you time to book should you be interested!

Tie it in with a stay in one of our cottages, either for a mid week, weekend or even a week break.  Our prices are very reasonable at this time of year, prices start from £280.00.

My apologies for being so tardy with the updating of this blog over the last 18 months.  Our time was consumed by the caring of my ailing mother, Emma, who took unwell in December 2011 and passed away in December 2012.  She was such a huge part of all of the family's lives as well as a huge presence within our business.  Many of you will have had the pleasure of meeting her and she so loved to come and knock on your holiday cottage door to make sure that everything was all right or just for a natter.  I have knuckled down over the last year and hope that I have done her proud.

Our Off Season project is in full swing at the moment.  We are spring cleaning and sprucing up the cottages, those of you that have been before will notice a slight difference on your return.  We are thrilled with how they look and hope that you enjoy the changes too.  We have just waved off our first visitor to see The Little Workshop with it's new look and they LOVED it!

They said: "The cottage is absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations by far. It's exactly the kind of place we're looking for for mum to move to."

Many visitors have told us that the pictures on the website do not do the place justice so I am looking to get a photographer who is better than myself (shouldn't be too difficult!) to come in and photograph the cottages to give you all a better grasp on what we offer.  I have tried to demonstrate the size & character of the buildings and the gorgeous views that we are lucky enough to have here but with little avail!!  So I graciously give in and hope to have some new photos up for you in the next few months.  Watch this space!

Over the last year I have met some wonderful people who I believe we can collaborate with in the future to enhance your stay here in Norfolk.  There are many more amazing things to do in the area which I will keep you informed of via this blog.

For now though, I wish you all a Happy 2014 and hope to see many of you throughout the year.

With Valentine's Day fast approaching we thought what better gift than a last minute romantic break away to the coast? So if the idea of a romantic, windswept walk/wheel on the beach, maybe followed by a meal for 2 at any one of the amazing pubs/restaurants nearby and then coming home to a warm, homely cottage sounds appealing, or even just staying in and enjoying the calm and tranquility that Norfolk has to offer in the winter, then read on...

We are offering a SPECIAL VALENTINES TARIFF, we have slashed the price of:

The long weekend 12 -14 Feb

2 bedroomed cottages: £280.00 (normally £340.00)
3 bedroomed cottages: £420.00 (normally £470.00)

Or a mid week break 14 - 18th Feb

2 bedroomed cottages: £235.00 (normally 295.00)
3 bedroomed cottages: £360.00 (normally 410.00)

If you are interested in this please either drop us an email at or give the office a ring on 01485 578354, if no one is there leave a message and we will get back to you,

The beginning of the blog...

Hi everyone,

Although I am very proud of the website that we have set up I am not hugely computer literate so I hope this works out........

Welcome to Norfolk Disabled Friendly Cottages' blog.  Here I hope to keep you up to date on how things are going in our peaceful and idyllic little pocket of Norfolk! If you have anything you would like to bring to the blog, please do not hesitate to comment as it is always good to hear feedback from yourselves.

We are very slowly catching up with the modern world and have now got a facebook page! For those of you that are facebookers, please visit the page and, if you wish to, show your support by clicking the LIKE button.

That will do for now, hopefully this will be the first of many posts that I will write,

Take care,
